On My Radar: February 2022 SFF Releases

New releases are always exciting and I am definitely guilty of neglecting books that have been collecting dust on my shelves in favor of shiny new books.

Here are five new releases published this month that I am very intrigued about:

Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes – February 8th 2022 by Tor Nightfire – Goodreads page

I don’t often read science fiction horror novels so, this title wasn’t on my radar at first. However, Tammy’s glowing review of Dead Silence made me rethink my initial decision and now, I am very intrigued about this book! It sounds like something I could enjoy very much!

Dark Breakers by C.S.E Cooney – February 15th 2022 by Mythic Delirium Books – Goodreads page

I have yet to read anything by C.S.E Cooney but, for some reasons, I have a feeling I am probably going to love their work so, I keep on buying them. 😂 Dark Breakers is a collection of short stories that sounds very weird and original and I have already pre-ordered a copy. Hopefully, I will read it soon!

Redwood and Wildfire by Andrea Hairston – February 1st 2022 by Tordotcom – Goodreads page

I have heard mixed things about this book, some people think the writing is gorgeous and that it discusses racism in poignant ways, others think that the story is meandering and that it doesn’t go anywhere. However, I remember reading an author interview of Andrea Hairstorn that made me very curious about her works and I usually enjoy Tordotcom’s books so, I would like to give this book a try.

Hunt the Stars (Starlight’s Shadow #1) by Jessie Mihalik – February 1st 2022 by Harper Voyager – Goodreads page

I don’t read a lot of science-fiction romance, but I really liked Everina Maxwell’s Winter Orbit and now, I want to give this subgenre a try! I hope it will both a good science fiction story and a good romance, the balance is often to hard to find.

Mickey7 by Edward Ashton – February 15th 2022 by St. Martin’s Press – Goodreads page

The first sentence of the synopsis was enough to catch my attention: “Mickey7, an “expendable,” refuses to let his replacement clone Mickey8 take his place.” Honestly, I don’t want to know anything more than that, I am already super intrigued!

What books are you looking forward to in February? 😀
